Here you go with the HTC Desire to update from Android™ 2.1 (Éclair) with HTC Sense™ to Froyo Android 2.2 officially announced by HTC website in MALAYSIA. This is a really awesome news for those gadget geeks in MALAYSIA. Why must you need to update to Froyo??

Why?

Why must you need to update to Froyo in your Desire? Because of the Speed especially browsing speed. Well, because I don’t own a Desire, so I couldn’t write myself a super good review =( However, I’d think this post is extremely good enough to describe what are the good stuffs from the Froyo Anroid 2.2 update.

How?

HTC has a very good support on the update. You do not need any download thru your pc and transfer to your phone. You phone will receive FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) update directly from HTC once you are connected to internet. See update from HTC http://www.htc.com/sea/support.aspx.

Your phone will receive a notification of FOTA update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Build number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.13.707.1. Update: Android 2.2 and HTC Sense update. Note：Please back up your data first before upgrading your phone. We recommend using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan to apply this update. If not, standard data connection charges may apply.
