How To Import Phone Contacts To Your Nexus S?

Another tutorial to teach you how to import phone contacts to your Nexus S or Android phone (I believe the steps to import to android phone is the same). This is totally simple and just for beginners =) However, it is really useful to beginners, at least useful to me =)

Step 1

Firstly, export your phone contact from your old phone. Export them into *.vcf format. This is a recommend format comparing to *.csv format because *.vcf is a standard format for contacts in phonebook. If you use a *.csv file, you need to make sure that your *.csv format is same with google contact’s csv format…

To me, I use MyPhoneExplorer to export all the contacts into *.vcf from my SE phone, please bear in mind that you need to export out all the contacts into a single *.vcf file

Step 2

Once you have your *.vcf file ready, go to Gmail account. If you do not have it, GO and APPLY ONE!! It’s FREE!!

Once your gmail is ready, then go the contacts at the top.

Step 3

Click on “More actions” –> Import –> Choose your file by browsing & select your *.vcf file. Upload them into your Google Contacts.

Step 4

Once done, go to your Nexus S or android phone.

Go Settings –> Accounts & Sync –> Manage Accounts-> Click On Your Email Accounts –> Sync Contacts

google-contact

Step 5

Enjoy your synchronized phonebook from Google Contact to your Nexus S/android phone. Done!!
