Windows 8 for tablets, probably features the tiled user interface which like Windows Phone does. Vhanla, creator of Win8Menu has successfully created executable file to feature both Windows 8 Tiled UI & Sidemenu into Windows 7. You could now have a glance on how Windows 8 tablets new features work in Windows 7 before official release. The Win8Menu is an alpha version where there are still a lot of “Not yet implemented” buttons in this version. Download and check what is cool inside.

Lock Screen

When you first trigger the Win8Menu.exe, you will see a lock screen in orange color with the date & time displayed. You will see another 3 buttons right at the bottom of the time & date where they are not functioning in this moment. You can simply unlock the screen by pressing the cursor and slide upwards, exactly on how you unlock your windows phone.

Windows 8 Tiled UI & SideMenu

Win8Menu has defaulted some popular web browser links in the windows 8 tiled UI like facebook, youtube, devianart and etc. You could browse thru the popular sites by clicking on them. If you slide your cursor to the right, a sidebar will appear with 5 buttons, some of them are still under development. Search & Start button work fine, Search will direct you to Bing search homepage where Start will direct you to the WIndows 8 Tiled UI homepage. If you slide your cursor to the left, you will see another sidebar to drag the background windows tab/applications. [See video for more details]

Remarks

Personally, I do not think it is use friendly in normal standard windows 7 or windows 8. it is acceptable to embed these 2 new features in Windows 8 Tablet which in touchscreen-based. Anyway, it is cool to see the new features from Windows 8 tablet. Thanks again to Vhanla from deviantArt.
