I have been using Brainmaster Nexus S ICS ROM for few months. It is time to change to a faster ROM. I did not do any OC (overclocking) on my nexus s yet and this is the first I look for ROM and kernel which can do overclocking. Safe overclocking can increase your smartphone in overall and handle your daily application smoother. I have chosen AirKernel by a Korea developer where he mentioned this kernel is stable and fast enough. I fully agree with that because I did not encounter random reboot after flashing the ROM. This ROM is based on CM9 (CyanogenMod 9) which is well known fast ,and with latest ICS version Android 4.0.4. Let’s check out the details.

Airkernel is tested stable and fast. In addition, it can OC your Nexus S to 1400MHz with stable daily use performance. This ROM is wonderful with supercharge features by zeppelinrox. By using supercharge tweaking, you will experience very mild laggy if you load several apps together. Combination of CM9, supercharge and airkernel, it brings me a total brand new Nexus S. 2378 is promising for Nexus S on ICS because ICS ROM is optimized for mutli-core hardware. With Gingerbread ROM, you can easily get more than 2500 on Nexus S. I got around 2500 with NexusMV ROM in the first few run. Below is the result after I have installed some applications.

3484 is a pretty nice number as of 5000 is the best score you can get with ICS ROM on Nexus S Antutu Benchmark scoreboard.

The ROM is overall very smooth and stable. I highly recommend this build ROM. Another reason to choose this ROM + kernel is you do not need to manual select kernel and combine with your selected ROM as this ROM is tested good and stable. If you insist to install some other kernel, you may end up with crashing or random reboot.

Installation

Installation is simple enough. Follow step below to install the ROM.

1. Reboot into clockwork recovery
2. Select wipe data cache partition
3. Select wide data/factory reset

4. Goto advance, wipe Dalvik Cache

5. Select install zip from sdcard

6. Flash ROM zip file
7. Reboot after finish flashing ROM.

8. Once ROM is booted and go into ICS, reboot into CWM recovery again.

9. Select install zip from sdcard

10 .Flash gaaps.zip
11. Reboot and Enjoy!
