Again a post with Cyanogen Mod 10 (CM10). Now turn to Samsung Galaxy Nexus S. Nexus S is one of the earliest smartphone to own Android 4.1 Jelly Bean CM10. Comparing to CM10 on Samsung Galaxy S3, Nexus S CM10 is even more robust with the latest build 4 release. This is unofficial CM10 ROM on Nexus S but should have brings about all Jelly Bean Android 4.1 features like smoother interface, better keyboard, enhanced notification bar and a lot more. From the forum, there was no known issue list but you are free to feedback to the developer if you found any bugs.
**ROM below need CWM Recovery been installed in Nexus S, if you have not done that, please follow step here.
Installation Guide For CM10 On Samsung Nexus S
1. Install Android SDK from Android Developer website into PC, which include USB driver. | Android SDK 67MB
2, Make sure you have enable USB debugging mode on Samsung Nexus S. [How To Enable USB Debugging Mode On Android]
3. Make sure your device has more than 50% of battery level and connected to PC via USB cable.
4. Back up necessary data [How To Back Up & Restore Contact, Gmail & Google Data On Android Without App Installed]
5. Download CM10 ROM & Gapps package from links below.
CM10 AOSP Build ROM Download #1: LegolasCMon19072012c.zip | 134MB
Super User (ChainsDD) Download #2 ChainsDD | 1.08MB
Gapps package Download #3 http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20120717-signed.zip | 95MB
6. Connect device to PC and transfer the three zip files you downloaded to your Nexus S internal sdcard.
7. Disconnect device from PC once copying finish.
8. Turn of the device and boot into CWM Recovery mode by pressing Volume Up + Power , use up down button to select Recovery Mode.
9. Do a full wipe.
10. Do Wipe Data/Factory Reset – Select from the menu and select yes to confirm.
11. Do Wipe Cache Partition – Select from the menu and select yes to confirm.
12. Go to advanced and do Wipe Dalvik Cache — Select from the menu and select yes to confirm.
13. Start flashing ROM. From the main menu in recovery, select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from internal sdcard, and then browse to folder location and select the CM10 rom zip file and click Yes to install.
14. Flash Super User for root access. Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from internal sdcard, and then browse to folder location and select the Super User Zip and click Yes to install.
15. Now, flash Google Apps. Select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from internal sdcard, and then browse to folder location and select the Gapps file and click Yes to install.
16. Go back to recovery’s main menu.
17. Select reboot system now to reboot your Nexus S. Be patient, first Boot taking longer.
18, You are done & enjoy.
