Smartphone is growing exponentially. There are a lot of “outdated-spec” smartphone still. I got Nexus S on my hand right now and it was an 2 years old android smartphone. It was lightning fast when i first bought it and installed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However, when time flies, after tons of tons update, it become slower and slower with ICS or Jelly Bean. In fact, the hardware performance doesn’t degraded but this were just too much improvement on the software application and cause it to run slower. RAM, definitely an important factor to determine whether you phone run lighting fast or turtlely slow. This post is to guide you how to improve your low memory android phone performance in overall if you have been struggling with lagging performance on android.

Wow, this is incredible, I can’t believe that Firefox OS has already available for Samsung Nexus S. Firefox OS is a new mobile Linux OS for smartphone. Since both Android and Firefox OS are using Linux base, so ,running Firefox OS on any android devices are very possible. This “running” Firefox OS on Samsung Nexus S is unofficial version and there is still a lot of broken and not working features with the coding. However, some basic functions like calling and call receiving is working seamlessly so far, 3G and WiFi connectivity also not a problem for now. Does Firefox will finally give a beat on iOS and Android?? No one knows for now but if you wish to have a quick try, probably you can have a quick try on Nexus S as the ROM is available for download now.

In the early morning of today, I have just flashed and tried the very first AOKP ROM. It isn’t fast because it was not customized and fully tweaked, it was a stock ROM and kernel for the phone. However, with AOKP ROM, you can have many other features being enabled in your devices. Tablet UI is one of the coolest feature/ I have tested tablet UI mode in my nexus S with AOKP Milestone 5. I would say the UI is extremely attractive and beautiful. This is unique to run tablet UI in a phone. You can also easily switch the tablet UI mode back to phone UI mode by having a simple tweaking. This flashable zip file works for all devices with AOKP devices.

Another Milestone for AOKP, Milestone 5. Update from AOKP is pretty fast and you can see the effort of developers in updating this AOKP ROM for several range of devices. AOKP become more and more popular due to the frequent update as well as more common tweaking and customization in this ROM. I have decided to flash my very first AOKP on my Samsung Nexus S. As summary, the AOKP milestone come together with Galaxy Nexus Kernel, updated to Android 4.0.4 and many fixes included.

I have been using Brainmaster Nexus S ICS ROM for few months. It is time to change to a faster ROM. I did not do any OC (overclocking) on my nexus s yet and this is the first I look for ROM and kernel which can do overclocking. Safe overclocking can increase your smartphone in overall and handle your daily application smoother. I have chosen AirKernel by a Korea developer where he mentioned this kernel is stable and fast enough. I fully agree with that because I did not encounter random reboot after flashing the ROM. This ROM is based on CM9 (CyanogenMod 9) which is well known fast ,and with latest ICS version Android 4.0.4. Let’s check out the details.
