Firefox OS is still at alpha stage towards to official release which expected to be happened on early 2014. It was still about a year to go. However, Firefox has approached Sony to build hardware for future Firefox OS devices. Sony had agreed and is working hard now in the Firefox OS development to associate with Xperia devices. Two days ago, Sony showed off their latest Firefox OS based running Sony Xperia E smartphone. Xperia E is a low-end smartphone which suit perfectly with early phase Firefox OS. The Firefox ROM is now available for Xperia E, download it and develop your own if you are interested. We expect more from Firefox OS in the next beta release soon.

Xperia launcher is now available for download unofficially for all Ice cream sandwich (ICS) and jelly bean android devices. The Sony Xperia launcher was successfully run on any android devices other than Sony Xperia devices normally. I love Xperia launcher as of its fast response and quick uninstallation feature on the launcher. This Xperia launcher is identical to the stock Sony Xperia devices with all the features included. Customization desktop and app drawer is possible too with this launcher. Big thanks to ra3al who posted the port to Xda. The installation is simple enough with apk format. You do not need to flash it through recovery.

Apple has officially rolling out Apple iOS 6.01 to all iOS devices. This minor update is to fixes some bugs & security issues especially on iPhone 5. The update also including fixes horizontal lines on keyboard, fixes for Microsoft Exchange and Passbook bugs, fix for Wi-Fi connectivity issues, bug fix related to Camera app and Wifi issue on iOS6 on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Official download link for iOS6.0.1 IPSW is available now. For owners who plan to jailbreak his iOS6 in near future, DO NOT update this iOS6.0.1 else you won’t be able to back to iOS6 for untethered jailbreak. You are warned.

iOS6.0.1 is out yesterday. The download of latest iOS 6.0.1 firmware is now available for download via your iTunes 10.7 or OTA update. The major updates and fixes in iOS6.0.1 are applied to iPhone 5 and majorly to improve the security of iPhone5. Wifi problem on the latest iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th generation seems to be solved with this latest patch of firmware. The firmware size is pretty small, about 50 – 80MB. If you are tends to JAILBREAK your iPhone5 or any iOS devices, do not update from iOS 6 to iOS 6.01. You are warned!!!

Android 4.2 is live with LG Nexus 4. In the latest android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Camera with photosphere is one of the new feature where more degree of view you can capture and view for a photo, similar to panorama with only vertical photo snapping. It has been a very cool feature where I have just tested it on My Nexus S. You need to have CWM installed in your android device in order to use it. In short, you need a rooted phone. Updating your iDevices to iOS6,  can be run without iTunes via OTA update, you only need the iDevice itself. Another way to update it is via iTunes. Updating iOS 6 via iTunes is more stable as you download the entire package from Apple server to your Mac or Pc before installation. You can also choose to download without install.
