I have subscribed a 3G line a year ago. It was a micro sim with 3G network. As you know, I recently purchased an 4G LTE Sony Xperia Z without a data plan. I do not have any 4G LTE sim card for my Sony Xperia Z. I decided to try my 3G Sim card on Xperia Z. Everything looks fine with my 3G sim card, call, sms, mms but only 3G data traffic. The 3G network was not working at all. I have tried out some silly methods by turning on and off the 3G data mobile, enable data roaming, turn on and off the Wifi. I even nearly send back my Xperia Z to the Sony shop to declare a damage on my device =)) Anyhow, before doing it, I found out what was the problem and root cause.

I have installed  few applications to have a rough checking on my Sony Xperia Z. I found it is time to have a factory reset and proceed further without any distraction with the old installed applications. Resetting Sony Xperia Z is simple enough. In Sony Xperia Z, the factory reset could only be done within the device OS. It is differ from Samsung device which can be done in either stock recovery mode and within the OS. Let’s have a quick check how we do the factory reset.

I flash android ROM pretty often and contact synchronization always happened and it might mess up when synchronization is duplicated. I’m not sure whether you have this similar problem as mine but I think this tutorial should be good for those who has duplicated contacts now in their phone. Check out the simple tutorial below. I asked around many of my friends who are using the Galaxy S3 who had recently updated their S3 to Jelly Bean. Many of them having same issue as mine. Freezing, delay, laggy after upgraded to official Jelly Bean on their S3.  It should be a great news to have Jelly Bean running on S3. In fact, the great news brought problems and problems behind it. The jelly bean ROM getting lagging and instant delay. It happened randomly and restart doesn’t help at all. To be frank, the “faster” Jelly Bean on Galaxy S3 is poorer in overall performance, comparing ICS. It doesn’t fit the fact of smoother and faster as what Google claimed.

Oh yea, multi windows is exclusive feature in Samsung Galaxy Note 2. There is no other phones are running multi windows feature, Galaxy S3 maybe coming in near future but not available now. Erm.. Multi windows feature also pretty new to me and it is also limited to specify applications. Not all of the applications are supported by Multi windows. In fact, it is still very useful especially on Galaxy Note 2 with big screen size. Someone may ask how to enable it and someone may ask how to disable it due to the annoying selection button appear on the side screen.

Smartphone is growing exponentially. There are a lot of “outdated-spec” smartphone still. I got Nexus S on my hand right now and it was an 2 years old android smartphone. It was lightning fast when i first bought it and installed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However, when time flies, after tons of tons update, it become slower and slower with ICS or Jelly Bean. In fact, the hardware performance doesn’t degraded but this were just too much improvement on the software application and cause it to run slower. RAM, definitely an important factor to determine whether you phone run lighting fast or turtlely slow. iPhone 5 has its own new features of taking panorama photos. However, taking panorama has been embedded in android OS for some quite some time which is earlier than iOS6 on iPhone 5. I missed it out with my Samsung Galaxy S3. My Galaxy S3 also can take panorama picture which it very interesting indeed. Panorama picture means a combination view from different angle or degree. Basically, the theory behind is combine few different snapshots in a picture. I have make one example, check it out after the break. It ain’t difficult to downgrade iOS 6 to iOS 5.1.1 for your lovely iDevices. The reason to go back to iOS 5.1.1 is to enjoy the jailbreak as untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 is not available right now. It may take a month and probably few more months to get the untethered jailbreak on iOS6. I decided to downgrade back to iOS5.1.1 and back to jailbreak. According to Apple, 15% of Apple users has upgraded their compatible devices to iOS6 which just released on yesterday. If you are one of them, probably you found Google Maps & Youtube apps are missing from the iOS stock apps. Google Youtube is very important application and i think shall not be removed from the stock apps. Anyway, if you wish to get these 2 apps back to your iOS6, it is not perfect but it is possible for temporary. Official Youtube app is available for iPhone iOS6 but not in iPad iOS6 yet.
