The existing low cost high performance of Nexus 7 has become top seller in United Kingdom and it could be hotter with the 3G version. The rumor started in taiwan NCC and the 3G version has been certified by NCC. The leaked model coded as ME370TG and has 32GB version only. 8GB and 16GB Nexus 7 seems not appearing in the NCC certification list. The leaked image also indicated that the new 3G Nexus 7 version will support GSM/DCS/WCDMA/WLAN/Bluetooth/NFC. Rumor also reported that the 32GB 3G version Nexus 7 could be launched and sell at the same price as Wifi 16GB nexus 7 at USD$245. It is really attractive on the price with the tablet’s quality. Yesterday, Google has quietly roll out an OTA update to Nexus 7, android 4.1.2. Still, it is jelly bean ROM with minor but not major update to this fancy tablet. The most notable changes in this 31MB size android 4.1.2 firmware update is the improved home screen with landscape mode. Nexus 7 pre-installed only the phablet mode home screen when you get it out of the box. No home screen rotation is available. In the previous version Android 4.1.1, rotation can only be made with app like Ultimate Rotation Control to force it for rotation (for stock ROM).
Asus Google Nexus 7 is now officially selling in Malaysia on 21 September 2012. After a long wait, finally Asus Malaysia has made annoucement in the official Malaysia Nexus 7 launch event today. We have all knew the specification of Nexus 7 since its launch but I believe most of you are more interested on the price and availability. Asus Malaysia ONLY offers 16GB version of Nexus 7 in Malaysia, price at RM999. There is no 8GB version available in Malaysia. You can get Nexus 7 from any Asus retail shop especially now in KL area. There is about 60,000 units in Asus store Malaysia and you should able to get yourself one on hand starting today onwards. Still, Nexus 7 with RM999 is very affordable for a tablet with high end hardware specification. To recap, check the hardware specification after the break.
Google Nexus 7 is one of the most anticipated android tablet with decent high hardware specification and cheap retail price. Finally, it is official to all Malaysian from Asus Malaysia. Media are invited to join the Google Nexus 7 launch event on 21 September 2012 by Asus Malaysia. It is pretty sure that only the WiFi version Galaxy Nexus 7 will be announced instead of 3G version. It is kind of late for Galaxy Nexus 7 to reach Malaysia after a few months of official launch. In case you wish interested to get one, see full specification here. I would suggest you to see the comparison of Kindle Fire HD VS Nexus 7 VS new iPad 3 if you are comparing products before purchase. iPad mini would be a good choice to look forward in the near future. The playground is now open. Are you ready for games??
Well well well, I wish to insert iPad mini in my comparison list but it isn’t in the market yet. Anyway, it will be my nexy comparison table with iPad mini. Back to the topic, Kindle Fire HD is the next best selling hotcake in tablet market [my guess] due to the low price tag. Kindle Fire 1st generation got itself even cheaper now with only $149, $50 price down upon the new release of Kindle Fire HD. Amazon admitted that the new Kindle Fire HD 7 doesn’t get any profit by selling the hardware but to create channel to make better retail on their Amazon products like ebook, mp3 and online shopping. Amazon Kindle Fire HD is installed with Android 4.0 ICS but with heavily modified. You may not recognize it is ICS. Check out my small comparison table to see the differences between these all gadgets. If you wish to see the Kindle Fire HD family comparison, proceed to this entry.
I’m struggling to get an Nexus 7 Wifi version as it was not a very good portable table without 3G service. If Nexus 7 come with 3G service, that is perfect for me and I believe it was a very encouraging news. It was kind of to have Nexus 7 ship to Malaysia and Singapore even on the Wifi version Nexus 7. According to Paul O’Brien over at MoDaCo claims that Asus is preparing a 3G-enabled variant for launch in “around six weeks,” with production already underway. If it is real, Nexus 7 3G will be on my hand soon. No price revealed on the Nexus 7 3G but definitely higher than the USD$199. I guess, USD249 8GB with 3G will be a great price for value. What do you say??
